It seems increasingly difficult these days to recruit youth into the manual trades. This problem is not exclusive to the UK. Tradesmen across the pond are experiencing a similar issue.

Filmmaker Richard Yeagley decided it was time to bring the subject to light. His latest film, a documentary titled “The Tradesmen: Making an Art of Work” aims to delve into the world of various traders in America today, in an effort to address the reasons why so few are carrying on the tradition of the tradesmen.

Instead of the division of labor taking place in one country, it will divided based on a nations comparative advantage. The problem with that is: Construction and building trade workers are non tradable: By their very nature, the work must be done locally.
