Tuesday 02.08.11 – Europe’s largest online tradesman directory and review site www.myhammer.co.uk and leading London estate agents Kinleigh Folkard and Hayward have joined forces to advise wannabe property developers about the profits and pitfalls of investing in bricks and mortar.
According to MyHammer tradesman, property developer and Cowboy Builder’s construction expert John Russell, “Nationally the housing market is a tough environment, that aside, there is a residential property shortage and in certain locations a good level of active buyers. The key is to buy right and ensure you have done your homework and haven’t over paid for the property.”

Friday, 24 June 2011 – www.myhammer.co.uk and HSS Hire have announced the winner of their 2011 Tradesperson of the Year competition, which aims to champion the great and the good amongst Britain’s tradespeople. Sonny Tatlock, 32, from Chorley in Lancashire was confirmed as winner by a judging panel including John Russell, the construction expert from Channel 5’s Cowboy Builders.
In addition to impressing the panel, Sonny received the highest number of votes (307) and came first from a total of 67 nominations. Sonny only started his own business last October and yet he’s quickly harnessed the power of the internet to drive his business forward. 67%* of consumers recently polled by MyHammer said reputation was the most important factor when choosing a tradesperson. The ability to use reviews to give future customers confidence and submit bids online for work has ensured Sonny has been quickly successful.
