Working Well Together (WWT) is hosting two half-day mock trials. The first will take place at The Sessions Court Room, Hanley Town Hall, Stoke-on-Trent on 16th October. The second will be held at Court No 1, Telford Magistrates Court, Telford on 18th October.
The sessions are intended to demonstrate what happens when things go wrong and a worker sustains injuries in the workplace.
In both cases, the trial will simulate a situation in which “A worker has been injured during excavation works when he struck a live 11Kv underground electricity cable.” The HSE has taken steps to prosecute the employer and managing director. What will happen?
The Health and Safety North Show will take place on 10th – 11th October at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton.
This event is free of charge and is a must for everyone who is responsible for health and safety in the workplace, including independent traders.
The White Van is on tour! Working Well Together (WWT) is sending out the mobile health and safety unit to connect with builders and construction workers about work-site dangers.
“Our ‚white van‘ will call in at construction sites in these areas and present short talks on construction safety and give all attendees a free goody bag. They will also be entered into a free draw to win a tv/dvd unit.
RoSPA (the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) will be hosting a one-day seminar on the topic of: “Getting it right when it all goes wrong” at the Prospero House in London on 28th March.
The seminar will include various speakers and opportunities for networking.
The aim of the seminar is „…to raise awareness of the health and safety issues facing your trade, and give practical advice on how to control and avoid risks„.
