Travelling to the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show

Thursday, June 11th, 2009 | Author: Bilbow

Thanks to the RHS website, MyHammer gardeners won’t have any problems with travel to this quality event. Bearing in mind the sheer number of visitors, public transport is advisable to avoid jams: The stations to look for are Hampton Court station and Kingston station and both are approximately 30 minutes from London Waterloo. The Garden Show is around 15-minutes on foot away from Hampton Court Station or you can even take a short ferry ride (£1.80 single*). Alternatively you can take a 30-minute cruise from Kingston station (£4.70 single, £6.20 return*).
* Prices are subject to change

Underground & bus
Travel to the Richmond Underground station via the District Line and then take the R68 bus from Richmond to Hampton Court.

Parking
If you need to come by car then try using the excellent Park and Ride service on offer. Frequent courtesy buses will be running all day between these facilities and Hampton Court station.
If you’re arriving from the M25 (junction j11) then Parking is available at the Apps Court Farm (Red Car Park) on the A3050.
If you’re travelling from Central London then use Old Tiffinians (Blue Car Park) on the A309 for £5 per day.
Parking at the showground is available at the Stud Gate Car Park (Black Car Park) on the A308 Hampton Court Road, and the Hampton Court Green Car Park (Green Car Park) opposite Hampton Court Palace. Pricing is to be confirmed.

Cycling
The greenest method of transport and one of the healthiest, cycling to the show is a personal favourite (weather permitting) and Bike racks will be available at the Thames Entrance.

Coaches
Coach parking is on Hampton Court Green, opposite the Palace. This is a good 20-30 minute walk to the show and involves crossing a footbridge so a Help the Aged Mobility Bus is going to be operating between the free coach park and Hampton Court Palace throughout the day.

Facilities
There will be lots of facilities around the gardens including a Bank, cloakroom, luggage area, plant crèche and even a pharmacy so just ask a member of staff when you arrive.

Disabled visitors
Orange/blue badge holders may park in the showground car park. There will be a reduced charge per day regardless of arrival time and Manual and Electric wheelchairs will be available for loan, but must be reserved in advance. For information please call 0845 260 7000. There is limited availability and the closing date for booking is the 3rd of July 2009.
Attendants cannot be provided but for those visitors needing carers, one companion will be admitted free of charge.
