As MyHammer continues to grow and consolidate its place as Europe’s number 1 marketplace for trade services, 2011 will bring about a focus on the trade service provider and how the platform can best serve their needs. In keeping with this, MyHammer will be hosting our first ever online seminar to discuss some of the changes that we have implemented at MyHammer and answer questions from tradesmen around the UK.
The meeting will be chaired by Jim Hustwit, the UK Country Manager, and David Florczyk, the UK Product Manager, and will begin at 19:00 (GMT) on Wednesday the 9th of March 2011.
The meeting is open to all members of MyHammer, although the presentation will focus on the product from a tradesman / service provider perspective.
If you would like to join us, you can register for the seminar by clicking here:
See you there.

Apprenticeship Week takes place from the 7th to the 11th February and will unite both employers and apprentices across the country in celebration of the apprenticeship scheme. So why is it that apprenticeships can be of huge benefit to employees and businesses alike?
An apprentice is more than just an extra pair of hands. They can be an incredibly productive and motivated addition to the workforce. There are several areas of apprenticeship which are relevant to MyHammer users including building services , engineering, general construction, electrical, plumbing, surveying and heating/ventilation.
We have listened to comments and concerns from tradesmen and service-providers and have modified the quoting process to offer two great new quote options! If a tradesman wishes to receive a customer’s details, make their own visible to other potential customers, we have introduced a Featured Quote option. If he or she wants to keep a quote under wraps then the standard Private Quote option is perfect.
Search for tradesmen based on the specifcs of your job
MyHammer has introduced the ‘quote search’ in order to make posting a job and finding a reliable local tradesman even easier. The quote search shows you tradesmen and builders in your area that are carrying out jobs similar to yours. In order to use the search simply go to the MyHammer home page – www.myhammer.co.uk – and click on ‘Quote Search’.
Below are some frequently asked questions about the new Private Quoting and Featured Quoting.
What is a ‘Private Quote?’
Up until now all quotes have been visible to the public – both to tradesmen and to customers irrespective of whether they are members of MyHammer. A Private Quote means it is only visible to the tradesman who makes it and to the customer whose job has been quoted on. The idea behind this is to avoid quoting wars whereby tradesmen persistently undercut each other in a bid to win the job on price which is unfair to the professionals and makes for a poorer service.
